Orange Cake (Gluten Free)
A simple, tasty, dense, moist and fresh cake for everyday occasion !
Ingredients :
- 2-3 oranges (aprox. 500. grams)
- 1 pack of baking powder
- 6 large eggs at room temperature
- 125 gr sugar
- 200 gr almond meal (or grounded almonds)
Time :
- Prepare : 35 minutes
- Cook : 60 minutes
Method :
Boil the whole oranges in water for 15 minutes, take them out and dry them in a towel, change the water and repeat the process once more (to make sure we remove the bitterness from the peel).
Cut the boiled oranges into small slices and add them to the food processor. The texture will be like a jam.
Add the rest of the ingredients (almond flour or chopped almonds, baking powder, sugar and eggs) and mix well with the mixer or whisk.
Add the composition in a cake form (previously greased with butter / cooking spray and lined with baking paper). Add in the preheated oven at 160 degrees (normal) / 140 degrees (with fan) for 60 minutes or until middle of the cake will pass the toothpick test.
Let the cake cool well in the form before cutting it. Since we do not use regular flour, our tart will be more fragile when it is hot.
Enjoy it next to some vanilla ice cream or simple.
